NEW YORK, NY, November 23, 2016 – Flatiron Health, a healthcare technology company providing software and data analytics services to cancer researchers and care providers, today announced it has earned Certified status for information security by the Health Information Trust (HITRUST) Alliance. HITRUST CSF Certified Status reflects Flatiron's satisfaction of key healthcare regulations and requirements for protecting and securing sensitive private healthcare information.

CSF Certified status indicates that Flatiron has met industry-defined health information security requirements and is appropriately managing associated risk, placing the company in an elite group of organizations worldwide that have earned this certification. By including federal and state regulations, standards and frameworks, and incorporating a risk-based approach, the HITRUST CSF helps Flatiron address these challenges through a comprehensive and flexible framework of prescriptive and scalable security controls.

“As the pressure to meet complex compliance requirements such as HIPAA, NIST, ISO and COBIT, continues to rise for our customers,” said Justin Berman, Vice President of Information Security, at Flatiron Health, “the HITRUST certification positions Flatiron to help our customers stay ahead of the regulatory mandates and ensure that all patient information is secure.”

“The HITRUST CSF has become the information protection framework for the healthcare industry, and is now the benchmark that organizations required to safeguard protected health information are measured against with regards to information protection,” said Ken Vander Wal, Chief Compliance Officer, HITRUST. “We are pleased that Flatiron Health has taken the steps necessary to achieve HITRUST CSF Certified status.”
